At Viridian we believe that the health of our staff is imperative to allowing them to achieve their best – in both their professional and personal lives. That’s why we have launched our new Viridian Vitality initiative, a program of events focused solely on wellness.

A one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work when it comes to wellbeing – so the range of events in our Viridian Vitality program is extensive. Highlights include physical activities (such as regular Pilates sessions), social activities (trivia nights) and comedic activities (funny video day). The program also features uplifting, interactive presentations from motivational speakers and media identities, “check in” Zoom sessions facilitated by the leadership team, and activities focusing on mental wellbeing, such as weekly workshops with a Psychologist.

We also have an array of other wellbeing strategies at Viridian. Notably, we were recently delighted to have several staff members volunteer as Wellbeing Ambassadors: people within the business happy to lend a compassionate ear to their colleagues in times of stress.

We recognise that employees may need more formalised support, so have partnered with an external provider, FBG Group, to provide our employee assistance program. This allows staff and their immediate families to access up to six free counselling sessions per separate issue. We have found that this is a great fail-safe for some staff members who may not feel comfortable discussing certain issues with others within the organisation.

We have also launched our Staff Wellbeing rating system, a short self-assessment focused on mental and physical state completed by staff on a weekly basis. This allows us to oversee staff wellbeing in a systematic and data-driven manner, providing us with an overall understanding of how our staff wellbeing is faring and where we need to place extra energies.

We are excited to keep working towards improving the wellness of our staff – and proud that it remains a focus into the future.
